Lab. Assistant Technician (Neurodegenerative diseases)
VHIR offers a vacant position for a Lab Assistant Technician for the Neurodegenerative Diseases Group.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry or a related field
- Specific training in laboratory research, including genetics, molecular and cell biology techniques and histology techniques
- English and French (B1 or higher)
Desired:
- Fluency in Catalan and Spanish
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- At least 4 months of experience working in research labs
- Experience and knowledge of histological laboratory techniques (e.g. stereological cell analysis, IHC, IF, confocal microscopy) and molecular techniques (ELISA, WB)
- Experience in genetic engineering
- Experience with specific software for image and data analysis (OlyVIA, Image J, GraphPad, QuPath, Adobe
Illustrator…) - Intermediate level of oral and written English and French
Desired:
- Previous knowledge in the field of medical research
- Experience with PCR techniques
- Ability to work in a teamwork-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Participation as a lab assistant technician in the research project “Activity and connectivity drive neuronal vulnerability and disease progression in Parkinson’s disease”.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week
- Starting date: February 2025
- Gross annual salary: 20.000€ (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
