The Renal Physiopathology group at VHIR is looking for a highly motivated Research Technician with proven experience in cellular/molecular techniques and animal mouse models relevant to kidney pathology. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects on rare renal diseases.

Education and qualifications:

Required:

• Laboratory Technician (CFGS/FPII) or Bachelor’s Degree
• Certificate in Animal Experimentation
• Fluency in Catalan and Spanish

Desired:

• English (business level)

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

• Previous experience in a similar position in an academic or industry research setting
• Hands-on experience working with mouse models
• Proven experience in cellular and molecular procedures
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of ethical guidelines and regulatory compliance for animal research

Desired:

• Good communication skills
• Commitment to producing high-quality experimental results
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Main responsibilities and duties:

• Conduct experiments involving mouse models, including handling, breeding, and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of animal care and experimental procedures.
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations.
• Maintain lab stocks and assist with lab maintenance.
• Collect, compile, and analyze data.
  
• General maintenance of the lab, such as preparing buffers and reagents.
• Assist team members with other experimental procedures involving mainly cell culture and molecular analysis (DNA/RNA handling, qPCR, cloning, protein analysis, etc).

Labour conditions:

• Full-time position: 40h/week.
• Starting date: immediate.
• Gross annual salary: 18.589,05€ – 20.757,77€ Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale
• Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
