Laboratory technician (Headache and neurological pain)
The Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) offers a vacant position for a Laboratory technician to join the Headache and Neurological Pain Research Group.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Degree in Biosciences (Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Human Biology, Genetics, etc.)
- Fluency in Catalan or Spanish and good knowledge of English.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Proven practical experience in fluorescent immunohistochemistry.
- Practical experience in microscopy, including conventional fluorescent microscopy, Thunder microscopy and Confocal microscopy.
- Practical experience in mouse brain samples processing, including freezing and cryostat cutting
- Practical experience with FIJI software.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Give support to the preclinical line of the Headache and Neurological Pain Research Group.
- Process all the mouse brain samples, including freezing and cutting in the cryostat.
- Perform fluorescent immunohistochemistry techniques.
- Perform all the image acquisition in the microscopy.
- Image analysis with FIJI.
- Basic statistical analysis.
Labour conditions:
- Part-time position: 25h/week.
- Starting date: July.
- Gross annual salary: 14.264,51 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale).
- Contract: Temporary.
