Legal Unit
VHIR offers a vacant position for a project manager with experience in a research institution to develop tasks within the Legal Unit, specifically in Compliance Area working very closely to post-award research grants management Unit. The goals of this Unit include ensuring the regulatory compliance in all institutional acts, especially in IP and biomedical research projects; giving advice to the scientific community at VHIR of the continuous legal developments that affect biomedical research and, therefore, the transfer of results to society, as well as to the different services and units at VHIR.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Additional training in competitive research projects and/or administration/accounting and finance.
- Fluency in Catalan and/or Spanish.
Desired:
- University degree related to the job description duties.
- Good level of English will be valued.

Desired:
- Experience in post-award research grants management and/or grants co-funded by Next Generation EU / MRR, FEDER, FSE.
- Experience in research institutions in the biomedical sector, particularly in ISCIII-accredited Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria, will be valued.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Identification of financial, legal and administrative requirements related to the execution of funded grants.
- Extraction of project execution and financial data from institutional ERP system.
- Elaboration of compliance, auto-evaluation and financial reports, and contribution to the elaboration technical reports, as required for the proper monitoring of funds.
- Include institutional information in official managements systems to comply with legal grants requirements.
- Serving as liaison between the institution and funding agencies, as well as with external providers supporting funds management.
- Revision of existing, and definition of new workflows and procedures for the proper execution of these grants.
- Coordination with the different management Units at VHIR (HR, Finance, Communication, Competitive Research) involved in the implementation of funded grants.
- Contribution to the accounting record of expenditure operations attributed to projects financed with funds.
- Any other duties related to the job as requested to contribute to the general functioning of the Legal Directorate.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40/week.
- Starting date: immediate
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale
- Contract: Open-ended contract linked to the project
