Research Technician (Bioengineering, cell therapy and surgery in congenital malformations)
We are looking for a Research Technician to join our animal experimentation team on a part-time basis at the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute. The candidate will focus on developing in vitro studies for osteoarticular pathologies.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Genetics
- Training in cell culture techniques
- Certification for research personnel handling animals for experimental and scientific purposes
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, and English
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Proven experience in preclinical in vitro studies using various cell lines
- Expertise in RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, Western blotting, and immunocytochemistry
- Experience in cell and tissue sample processing
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Desired:
- Ability to contribute to medical research in osteoarticular pathologies
- Ability to carry out scientific research and publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Strong ability to work independently and manage projects autonomously
- Preferred experience in the field of osteoarticular pathologies
- Knowledge of bioengineering and cell therapy for the treatment of osteoarticular pathologies
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Design and organize preclinical in vitro studies using different cell types
- Cell culture studies for osteoarticular cellular models
- Process cell and tissue samples and conduct for RNA/DNA processing, qPCR, western-blot and immunocytochemistry analysis
Labour conditions:
- Part-time position: 10h/week
- Starting date: Immediate
- Gross annual salary: 6.000 euros. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
