The Vall d’Hebron Accredited Health Institute (IIS IR-HUVH) offers a vacant position for a Project Management Specialist at the Internal Strategy Area, within the Secretariat for Scientific Governance and Policy Unit. This Unit, in coordination with the Managing, Scientific and Strategic Areas from VHIO, leads all the actions related to the strategy developed within the frame of the IIS IR-HUVH.
The Secretariat for Scientific Governance and Policy Unit is responsible for the knowledge management of the Institution as well as the coordination of a wide range of strategic, scientific and institutional activities, such as Strategic planning implementation, institutional evaluations, research performance KPIs and the global support in the development and monitoring of the global institutional structure.
Job Description
We are seeking a Project Management Specialist to provide support in the follow up of the activities for the decision making related to the Accredited Health Institute (IIS IR-HUVH) based on the data and activity. The position will imply the management of its knowledge through, among others, the coordination of indicators, elaboration of Director’s Scientific Reports, coordination between the different institutions that are part of the IIS IR-HUVH, monitoring of Strategic Plans and the evolution of annual and strategic objectives as well as de dynamization of joint initiatives.
Although integrated within the Secretariat for Scientific Governance and Policy at the Internal Strategy Area of VHIR, this position will be part of the IIS IR-HUVH Accredited Institute (including VHIO), of which VHIR acts as the Management Body.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information/Knowledge Management, Life Sciences or similar
- Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- High level of Spanish and Catalan (C1)
- English spoken and written correctly (B2).
Desired:
- Bachelor degree in biomedical science related discipline or others
- Project Management training
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project management, preferably in a scientific environment
- Well organized person with very good attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent teamwork with good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Personal skills:
- Critical thinking and advanced analysis and problem-solving skills
- Well organised with excellent planification and time management skills
- Ability to interact with different hierarchical levels of the organisation
- Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines

Desired:
- Knowledge and experience in the biomedical field, Research Organizations or Health Related Institutions will be valued
- Wide knowledge and experience of the Accredited Health Institutes Programme by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III
- Be familiar with competitive and non-competitive research activities
- Be familiar with innovation and knowledge & technology transfer
The candidate will provide support to the Accredited Institute IR-HUVH within the VHIR Strategy Area, monitoring and doing the follow-up of all related activities and requirements of the Vall d’Hebron Accredited Health Institute, ensuring that all the information related are maintained properly and up to date. Specifically, but not limited to, this support will include:
- Follow up of the information related to the Accredited Health Institute, by coordinating the different institutions that belong to it.
- Liaise with the different institutions and key members for the regarding knowledge needs
- Provide support in the Institute scientific evaluations, i.e. preparation, support and coordination of key actors in upcoming reaccreditation processes and audits
- Analysis and follow-up of the Accreditation Guide for continuous follow-up towards the next re-accreditation, including proposals for improving internal or regulatory management
- Provide support on the implementation of the different IIS IR-HUVH plans, such as (but not limited to) the Strategic Plan, the Integration Plan, the Scientific Shared Plan, the HR Plan, the Results Transfer Plan, the Communications Plan, the Training Plan, the Emerging Research Groups Plan, the Quality Plan, in coordination with the units responsible of their implementation.
- Planning and monitoring of the annual meetings of the Governing Bodies of the IIS, and support in preparation of the necessary documentation
- Management of requests from the different external bodies in relation to the IIS such as REGIC (memory and KPIs data), or the ISCIII: Cuadro de Mandos, Annual Report, SICTI, and other management of indicators within the framework of the IIS – to be coordinated with key users from each organisation
- Other tasks and projects related directly with the Vall d’Hebron Accredited Health The candidate will provide support within the Secretariat for Scientific Governance and Policy Unit (Internal Strategy Area)., ensuring that all the knowledge fields related tasks are maintained properly and up to date.
- Full-time: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediately.
- Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
