Research Nurse (Childhood cancer and blood disorders)
The University Hospital Vall d'Hebron is highly specialized in rare diseases on a Regional, national and international level with its incorporation as full member of 20 of the 24 European Reference Networks (ERN).
The scientific direction of the ERN-EuroBloodNet, www.eurobloodnet.eu, the ERN dedicated to Rare Hematological Diseases (RHD), is led by Dr Mañú Pereira, head of the Rare Anemia Disorders research lab within the “Cancer y enfermedades hematologicas infantiles” group.
Our research strategy is focused on the development and validation of innovative methodological approaches for better characterization of patients affected by rare anemia disorders according to their individual features to allow personal risk profiles and personalized medicine.
In this context, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Research Nurse to join our team. This role involves participation as study coordinator and clinical researcher in various national and european projects related to clinical and multiomics research, including ERDERA (European Rare Diseases Research Alliance), funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe Programme. Potential to pursue a Ph.D. within the research program.
The primary focus of this position will be on designing, collecting and analyzing Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in Sickle cell disease.
The role requires close collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, and patient representatives.

Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Registered Nurse qualification, with licensure to practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Fluent (written and spoken) English and Spanish.
Desired:
- Knowledge of ethical and regulatory frameworks governing clinical research
- Master’s degree
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Experience/ knowledge in clinical research.
- Interest in rare diseases and patient-centered research.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research setting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Desired:
- Experience with PROMs and/or patient engagement strategies.
- Experience in clinical trials as expert nurse or study coordinator.
- Experience/knowledge in participating in EU-funded projects (notions of what is a work package, a deliverable, a milestone...).
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Data collection & management: you will be responsible for pediatric and adult patients' enrollment in the Study protocol, collecting and managing clinical data, including Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including protocols, progress reports, and meeting minutes. Prepare and distribute deliverables, summaries, and presentations as needed.
- Meeting Participation & Coordination: Organize and facilitate regular project meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, minutes and proposing and following up on action items.
- Patient engagement: you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining collaborations with patient representatives, advocacy groups, and associations to foster enhanced patient engagement in research.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week
- Starting date: immediate.
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale).
