Graduated Technician in Bioinformatics and Computational network Biology (Physiology and pathophysiology of the digestive tract)

Education and qualifications:

Required:

Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
Fluency in Spanish, English (business level)

Desired:

Experience in handling drug-condition databases (DrugBank, ChEMBL, TTD, …).
Experience in programming in MATLAB.
Experience in network analysis of biological systems.
Experience in in-silico simulations of drug efficacy analysis (PBPK modeling, …).
Previous experience in a research setting funded by the EU-funded H2020 program.

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

Expertise in data-processing programming languages, such as R and Python.
Experience in pipelines and methods of analysis of omics data (microarrays, RNA-Seq, proteomics, scRNA-Seq, metabolomics, miRNA, …).
Experience in statistical analysis applied to medical settings.
Experience in Machine Learning-based data analysis methods.

Main responsibilities and duties:

Provide bioinformatics support for the H2020 DISCOvERIE project with the following tasks:

Molecular data integration (transcriptomics, proteomics and genomics). Dissect gene-disease relations based on an existing pathological protein network model (MATLAB based).
Clinical data curation, machine learning approaches to identify biomarkers. Interpretation of results in the context of existing knowledge.
Reporting of results following EU schemes, preparation of deliverables and dissemination materials.
Prepare a scientific publication.

Labour conditions:

Full-time position: 40h/week.
Starting date: immediately.
Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale).
Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
