Laboratory Technician (Infection and immunity in pediatric patients)
The Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) offers a vacant position for a Laboratory Technician (FP II) to join the Infection and Immunity in Pediatric Patients Research Group.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Higher-Level Vocational Training (FP II) in Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory or equivalent
Desired:
- Additional training in immunology or molecular biology techniques
- Full professional proficiency in Catalan, Spanish, and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Practical experience in laboratory techniques including PBMC isolation, ELISA, Western blot, cell culture, and flow cytometry
- Solid understanding of basic laboratory tasks such as sample handling, data recording, and equipment maintenance
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Desired:
- Previous experience in research or hospital laboratory settings
- Knowledge of biosafety regulations and laboratory management tools
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Perform experimental protocols related to immunological and molecular biology studies.
- Prepare and manage samples, reagents, and data records.
- Maintain equipment and manage reagent stock and lab supply orders.
- Support researchers and senior staff in experimental work.
- Update project documentation and databases.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week
- Starting date: immediate
- Gross annual salary: 20.000 euros. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
