Study Coordinator (Childhood cancer and blood disorders)
The Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Division of Vall d’Hebron Hospital treats around 120 children and adolescents with cancer per year as well as up to 500 new patients with haematological conditions and performs 40-50 stem cell transplantations (SCT). The SCT team is JACIE-accredited and performs advanced therapy medicine therapies including CAR-T cell therapy among others. All research is conducted through the Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders Group of VHIR. There are 30 phase 1/2 and 15 phase 3/4 clinical trials ongoing and several patient registries. The candidate will join a very active team (there are 30 early-phase and 18 late-phase clinical trials ongoing). This team consists of 18 paediatric haematology and oncology consultants, 3 study coordinators, 2 data managers and 1 research nurse, and the candidate will be involved in the day-to-day conduct of late-phase clinical trials and patient registries.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- University degree in biomedical sciences
Desired:
- Study coordination training and/or experience
- Training in Good Clinical Practice / ICH (less than 2 years ago)
- Good command of English
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Clinical trials data management (e-CRF, AE, SUSARs) experience
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Access or similar)
Desired:
- Experience with study coordination or data management in paediatric clinical trials or paediatric clinical research
- Experience in the field of paediatric stem cell transplantation (at least 6 months)
- Experience with procedures related to JACIE accreditation in SCT
- Experience with industry-sponsored trials
- Experience with biological samples processing and management
- Good communication skills and good team player
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Data entry, data management and query resolution for trials and registries in paediatric SCT.
- Work with the team of study coordinators to coordinate phase I and II clinical trials and studies in the field of paediatric Stem Cell Transplantation, trial set up activities, support clinical trial monitors.
- Support the SCT team with JACIE-related standard operative procedures and registries.
- Assistance to trial principal investigators.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week
- Starting date: immediate
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
