Clinical researcher (Infectious diseases)
The Infectious diseases Group is a multidisciplinary research team that collaborates in the development of new antibiotics, new treatments for HIV and treatments for tuberculosis through participation in clinical trials and research projects to improve the quality of life of patients with infectious diseases.
VHIR offers vacancy/vacant position for a Clinical Investigator within the Infectious Diseases Group.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Medicine degree
- Specialist in Internal Medicine
- Clinical training in Infectious Diseases (at least 2 years)
- Experience in the diagnosis and treatment of nosocomial infections
Desired:
- Good level in spoken and written English (C1 level).
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, SPSS or similar, webpage, webmail).
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Experience in the diagnosis and treatment of nosocomial infections
- Experience in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular infections
- Knowledge of antibiotic use optimization programs (PROA) and nosocomial infection surveillance in Catalonia (VINCaT)
- Knowledge of control infection measures
- Experience in clinical trials and clinical research
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Motivation for clinical research
- High motivation and initiative

- Methodical and well-organized
- Good communication skills
- Development of a research project leading to the preparation of a doctoral thesis
- Selection, inclusion and follow-up of patients in clinical trials regarding nosocomial infections and cardiovascular infections
- Clinical assessment of hospitalized patients with community acquired infections, nosocomial infections and cardiovascular infections developing consulting tasks regarding clinical management at both diagnostic and therapeutic level
- Participation in the multidisciplinary clinical case discussion committees in which the Infectious Diseases Service participates
- The candidate will participate in the daily activities of the hospitalization area of infectious diseases and in the nosocomial infection section. The candidate will be involved in antibiotic optimization policies and programs for monitoring and prevention of multidrug-resistant microorganisms nosocomial transmission.
- Participation in the meetings and activities of the Research Group of Infectious Diseases
Labour conditions:
- Part-time position: 28h/week.
- Starting date: october 2025.
- Gross annual salary: 19.518,50 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
