Data Entry (Microbiology)
VHIR offers vacancy/vacant position a Data Manager position within the Microbiology Research Group
The Research Group of Microbiology at Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) focuses on the study of the microbiology aspects involved in the infectious diseases aimed at improving developing basic, translational and clinical research that could improve the outcomes of patients with infectious diseases. We work with special interest in studying the mechanisms involved in antimicrobial resistance, the sexually transmitted infectious diseases, the study of viral and fungal infection in immunocompromised patients, the microbial mechanisms involved in pathogenicity, microbial epidemiology as well as in the design and evaluation of new molecular infectious disease diagnostic systems. Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Degree in Life Sciences and Health.
- Good communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English (minimum level in English: C).
- Good publications and projects participation records.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Proven experience in data entry, data management, databases maintenance and statistics.
- Knowledge in the pathophysiology of sepsis.
- Knowledge of accessing electronic health records within the ICS environment.
- Data management and analysis using REDCap.
- Knowledge on statistics.
- Experience in clinical microbiology.
- The candidate must be proficient in the preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed international scientific journals.
- Proactive, dynamic and outstanding organizational skills are required.
- Experience on international project management and project applications.
- Background in molecular biology ands antimicrobial resistance.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Data entry in the database of the sepsis code at Hospital Vall d’Hebron.
- Collection and management of clinical data of patients diagnosed with sepsis
- Participation in the coordination and development of the research projects in sepsis.
- Laboratory technical support and development of microbiology aspects of the project.
- Project Management, Project Applications.
- Writing scientific reports and papers.
- Attending projects meetings and scientific conferences, and in outreach activities within the project.
- Support the researchers of the project.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: October 2025
- Gross annual salary: 24.602,35€. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale).
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
