Predoctoral Researcher (Cardiovascular diseases)

VHIR offers a vacancy for a Predoctoral Researcher of the Cardiovascular Diseases Research Group.

Education and qualifications:

Required:

Biology, Biomedicine, Biomedical Sciences or Life Sciences Degree
Master’s Degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Research or similar
Enrolled in a PhD programme or intending to enroll in the present year
Fluency in English

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

Experience in cell biology and general domain of biochemical techniques (RNA extraction, qPCR, Western blot, immunofluorescence)

Desired:

Previous experience in aging pathophysiology will be highly valued
Technical expertise in the chemistry of AGEs

Main responsibilities and duties:

Cardiomyocyte isolation
Fluorescent confocal cell imaging
Isolation of functionally intact cardiac mitochondria
Immunofluorescence/histopathology of heart samples
ELISA, W. blot and PCR.

Labour conditions:

Full-time position: 40h/week
Starting date: immediate
Gross annual salary: 18.269,55 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
Contract: Predoctoral contract
