Optometrist (Diabetes and metabolism)
VHIR offers a vacant position for an Optometrist to work in the Diabetes and Metabolism Research Group. The selected candidate will participate in the project “Study of safety and effectiveness of topical administration (eye drops) of sitagliptin for treating early stages of diabetic retinopathy (EyeSit@)”. Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Degree in a life science, preferably optics and optometry
Desired:
- Master’s degree in Clinical Optometry
- Master’s degree in Clinical trials
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Experience in performing OCT, FA, FAF and CFP
- Experience using SAP management software
- Experience working with suppliers related to visual acuity correction and ophthalmic imaging
Desired:
- Highly organised and methodical person, with strong motivation and initiative
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to respond quickly to requests from the team and sponsor
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Coordinate clinical research to ensure research activities comply with national guidelines and institutional policy.
- Ensure proper training of research personnel to comply with federal guidelines.
- Record and document training activities of personnel.
- Work closely with compliance officers facilitating and reporting on clinical audits.
- Maintain confidentiality and protection of patients participating in clinical research, ensuring informed consent is obtained for all participants.
- Documenting and reporting any breach of compliance with federal and agency regulations to appropriate persons.
Labour conditions:
- Part-time position: 5h/week
- Starting date: immediate
- Gross annual salary: 4.600,00 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Duration: 1 year
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
