Predoctoral Researcher (Diabetes and metabolism)
VHIR offers a Predoctoral Researcher position at the Laboratory of Metabolism and Obesity, led by Dr. Josep A. Villena. The research of Dr Villena’s laboratory focuses on the study of the cellular and molecular mechanisms by which adipose tissues contribute to the control of body weight and glucose homeostasis, with particular interest in how the adipocyte-immune cell crosstalk contribute to tissue homeostasis or development of cardiometabolic pathologies. His research combines multiple -omics technologies (transcriptomics, proteomics and cytomics) with the use of sophisticated tissue-specific (constitutive and inducible) knockout mouse models, primary cultures, and human samples.
