VHIR offers a vacant position for a Clinical Nurse to work in the Diabetes and Metabolism Research Group.

Education and qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Desired:

• Master’s in Diabetes and Technology (completed or ongoing)

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

• Experience in diabetes management, with expertise in technologies (insulin pump, insulin pens and continuous glucose monitoring)
• Experience in the insertion and removal of an implantable glucose sensor
• Experience in clinical research and data collection

Main responsibilities and duties:

• Assessment of the prevalence of skin problems related to the sensor or adhesive issues in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus who use non-implantable continuous glucose monitoring systems (n=200).
• Identification of candidates for implantable technology, training in sensor use, implantation of the glucose monitor, and follow-up of type 1 diabetes patients.
• Collection of clinically relevant data and patient reported outcomes derived from the initiation of the implantable glucose sensor.
