Research Technician (Kidney physiopathology)
VHIR offers a vacant for a highly motivated Research Technician with proven experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects focused on kidney disease modeling using human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-based approaches.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in a biosciences-related field
- Good academic record (degree classification over 7.5/10)
- Good communication skills in English and Spanish
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Proven experience in mammalian cell culture techniques and general molecular biology procedures (nucleic acid extraction, purification, and quantification)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to experimental detail and data quality
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desired:
- Familiarity with differentiation or characterization of complex cell systems (e.g., primary cells or stem cell–derived models)
- Experience in immunological or virologic assays, and in the statistical analysis of experimental data
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Handling, processing, and storage of biological samples and associated data.
- Performing routine and non-routine molecular biology experiments, including nucleic acid extraction, PCR, and gene expression analysis.
- Maintenance and differentiation of human cell cultures, including hiPSC-derived cell types, under standardized laboratory conditions.
- Characterization of cellular phenotypes using biochemical and immunological assays.
- Accurate documentation of experimental procedures and results, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week
- Starting date: immediate
- Gross annual salary: 22.823,22 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
