VHIR offers a position for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Clinical Biochemistry, Drug Delivery and Therapy Group and support the research lines in development of diagnostic methods.

Education and qualifications:

Required:

• PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine or a related field
• Training in protein engineering and mass spectrometry
• Fluency in English (professional level)

Desired:

• Fluency in Catalan and Spanish

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

• At least two years’ experience working in mass spectrometry-based methods and protein engineering
• Background in chemistry applied to biological sciences

Desired:

• Ability to conduct research projects independently, to prepare publications and to apply for competitive grants
• Experience in other basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western Blot, ELISA, etc.) and cell culture
• Strong publication record
• Research stays abroad
• Desirable soft skills: Teamwork, initiative, a well-organised and responsible person

Main responsibilities and duties:

• Support the development of research lines related to diagnostic methods development including conducting experiments, analysis of the results and organisation/coordination of the laboratory staff and students’ work.
• Prepare abstracts for scientific conferences and manuscripts for publication.
• Apply for competitive grants to fund projects or human resources.
