Clinical scientist (Paediatric Neuromuscular Unit)
VHIR seeks a vacancy/vacant position for a Clinical Scientist in Paediatric Neuromuscular Unit.
The Paediatric Neuromuscular Unit at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital is a national reference center dedicated to the diagnosis, care, and research of neuromuscular diseases in children. The Unit integrates clinical expertise with advanced diagnostic tools including genetic testing, muscle imaging, and functional assessments. As a clinical scientist within the team, the candidate will contribute to translational research projects, natural history studies, and clinical trials involving innovative therapies such as gene therapy and antisense oligonucleotides. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures comprehensive care for patients and families, while fostering collaboration with national and international networks in rare disease research.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Degree in Medicine
- Specific training in Child Neurology
- Good clinical practice certificate.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (business level)
Desired:
- Fluency in Catalan or enrolled in any learning activity for it
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Experience working in Pediatrics and Child neurology
- Experience working in trials and clinical research in Pediatrics.
- Ability to build databases in Redcap.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Coordinate the clinical trials in Pediatric Neuromuscular team
- Coordinate the natural history studies in child neurology
- Give support to investigators and study coordinators
- Give support to registries and other research activities.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediate.
- Gross annual salary: 30.000 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
