Postdoctoral Researcher
Liver Disease
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher with liver background willing to join our group through competitive postdoctoral program calls (EMBO, Sara Borrell).
The Advanced and Chronic Liver Disease group belongs to the Liver Diseases Research Group of VHIR. It is also a consolidated group, recognized by AGAUR and it is integrated at the CIBERehd. We are interested in the mechanisms leading to liver fibrosis and portal hypertension in liver disease, mostly of metabolic injury and alcohol-related origin, as well as the immune and inflammatory underlying pathways. We use the rat/mouse model and several ex vivo techniques.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Degree in Biology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Human Biology, or related fields,
PhD within the field of liver diseases
Desired:
Good command of English, Spanish and Catalan for scientific writing and team communication
Accreditation to handle experimental animals
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Minimum of 3 years year of experience working in the field of liver disease research
Experience in molecular and cell biology
Interest in clinical research, teamwork, and the ability to take on tasks in writing, coordination and project management
Contribution to scientific publications and conference abstracts
Knowledge of statistics and experience with software such as GraphPad
Main responsibilities and duties:
We are seeking a candidate to join our Liver Diseases Research Group at VHIR. The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Animal models in liver diseases
Experimental design, laboratory work, data analysis, and manuscript writing within the context of a research group focused on advanced and chronic liver disease.
Participation in teaching activities organized by the research group and the campus.
Contribution to data analysis and interpretation of results for internal reports and scientific publications.
Assistance in the preparation of presentations for group meetings, conferences, and dissemination activities.
Labour conditions:
Full-time position: 40h/week.
Starting date: This position is subject to obtaining the EMBO or Sara Borrell.
Gross annual salary: According to the conditions established by the grant holder (EMBO, Sara Borrell. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
Contract: This position is subject to obtaining the EMBO or Sara Borell.
