Headache and Pain Research Group
The Headache and Pain Research Group is focused on the study of sensory processing and brain mechanisms underlying neurological disorders, with a special emphasis on migraine. The group combines experimental neuroscience, clinical research, and technological innovation to develop and validate new methodologies and tools for quantitative sensory assessment.
The selected candidate will join an interdisciplinary team working on the development and validation of mobile application–based methodologies aimed at improving data collection, scalability, and longitudinal assessment in migraine research.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Specific/Additional training in digital health tools, mobile app–based research, or data acquisition technologies
Experience in grant-funded research environments
Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, and English (business/scientific level)
Desired:
Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences (Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Sciences or related fields)
PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience or related discipline
Specific/Additional training in experimental neuroscience, sensory processing, or clinical research methodologies
Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, and English (business/scientific level)
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
At least 5 years of experience working in academic or clinical neuroscience research
Proven experience managing and implementing competitive research grants (national and European)
Knowledge of quantitative sensory testing, psychophysical methodologies, and migraine research
Experience in longitudinal study design and data collection
Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary research teams
Ability to manage multiple research tasks and meet project deadlines
Desired:
Knowledge of mobile health applications and remote data collection methodologies
Experience with standardized questionnaires and threshold-based sensory measurements
Ability to translate laboratory-based methodologies into real-world and scalable research tools
Main responsibilities and duties:
Coordinate and manage research activities related to the development and validation of mobile App–based tools for migraine research
Oversee the application and execution of funded research projects, ensuring compliance with grant objectives and timelines
Give support to the design, implementation, and optimization of methodologies for quantifying sensory sensitivity
Collaborate with clinicians, engineers, and researchers to adapt laboratory protocols for real-time data collection outside the laboratory
Prepare and organize experimental protocols, data collection procedures, and documentation for longitudinal studies
Analyze sensory sensitivity data collected through both laboratory-based and App-based methodologies
Keep track of project progress, data quality, and research outcomes
Contribute to scientific publications and dissemination of results in indexed journals
Support the expansion of participant recruitment through scalable App-based research tools
Labour conditions:
Part-time position: 18,75 h/week.
Starting date: February
Gross annual salary: 16.104,50€. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project
