Project manager
The Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorders group at VHIR is composed of clinical, translational and basic researchers. The group has three laboratories (Sarcomas lab, Neural Tumours lab and Rare Anaemia Disorders lab) and three research programs (Personalised Medicine, Clinical Trials Unit and Stem Cell & Advanced Therapies).

Education and qualifications:
The candidate will join the Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorders team to work on the project “A Phase I trial of ABTL0812 in children with relapsed/refractory neuroblastoma and extra-cranial solid tumours”. We are looking for a Project Manager to coordinate the project. The person in this role will coordinate and support all operational and communication aspects of the clinical trial, including site initiation, data management, sample handling, documentation and dissemination of results. Furthermore, she/he will give support to other ongoing Personalized Medicine projects of the group.
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Genetics, Medicine, etc..)
Master’s degree in Science.
Fluency in Spanish and English
Desired:
Training in project coordination and data recording.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
At least 2 years of experience working in solid tumor childhood cancer.
At least 2 years of proven expertise in managing data registries (preferably related to Biomedicine or Health).
Experience in translational and/or clinical research (research projects or clinical trials).
Knowledge of childhood cancer genomics and biology of paediatric cancers.
Knowledge of REDCap database.
Desired:
Knowledge of next generation sequencing, whole exome sequencing & RNA sequencing techniques.
Knowledge of study databases.
Motivation for research.
Autonomy and proactive.
Good communication skills and good team player
Main responsibilities and duties:
Execute project tasks according to established plans
Support the rapid and effective initiation of the clinical trial across accredited centres nationally and internationally.
Manage and coordinate communication with participating hospitals
Collect data and maintain project databases
Handle samples
Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including protocols, work plan monitoring, progress reports, and meeting minutes; prepare and distribute deliverables and summaries
Prepare result presentations, communication materials, and scientific manuscripts for publication.
Develop and implement activities to increase the visibility of the clinical trial and personalized medicine projects.
Participate in laboratory outreach activities
Labour conditions:
Full-time position: 37,5 h/week.
Starting date: immediate
Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
