Administrative Assistant
VHIR is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join the Kidney Physiopathology Research Group.
The Paediatric Nephrology Department is part of the University Hospital Vall d’Hebron (VHUH) located in Barcelona, a tertiary referral public centre for Catalunya and many other areas of Spain. A Women's and Children’s, General, and Trauma-Orthopaedics Teaching Hospitals providing a multidisciplinary care involving all paediatric and adult medical and surgical sub-specialties are part of the HUVH. We also work closely with the Paediatric Urology Service, which is accredited as a national reference service for complex urologic surgeries in children and adolescents.
Further, we are part of the Renal Physiopathology Group at the Vall d'Hebrón Research Institute (VHIR). https://vhir.vallhebron.com/ca/recerca/fisiopatologia-renal. Our research is focused on the field of Inherited Tubulopathies (Dent disease, Familial hypomagnesaemia with hypercalciuria nephrocalcinosis), and rare kidney diseases.
In the clinical research field, we are fully committed to the development of new therapies in paediatric patients and thus, we participate in several international clinical trials and academic research projects focused on chronic kidney disease in children and rare kidney diseases.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Social Sciences, Humanities, Law or related fields, or currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme
Training in good clinical practice (GCP)
Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English (business level)
Basic computer skills (Office applications, email)
Desired:
Basic principles of data quality, accuracy, and traceability
Ethical handling of sensitive information, including patient confidentiality and data protection standards
An organised and methodical person with high motivation and initiative
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
No prior training or professional experience in the health or research fields is required
Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn new digital tools
Basic knowledge of spreadsheets or database tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, or similar)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures
Desired:
Experience with data entry, administrative tasks, or information organisation (academic, volunteer, or informal contexts)
Ability to work independently while following detailed instructions
Good organisational and time management skills
Main responsibilities and duties:
Support and participate in academic registries and research projects.
Enter and keep clinical data up to date in the CRFs from source documents.
Ongoing collaboration with the medical and research team, following established guidelines.
Basic review of data completeness and internal consistency (non-clinical).
Organisation of digital documentation related to academic and research projects.
Assist the research team in the tasks necessary for the development of studies.
Support the clinical research coordinator of the group.
Labour conditions:
Full-time/Part-time position: 7,5h/week
Starting date: February 2026
Gross annual salary: 3.600 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
