Mission of the Position
The mission of this position is to act as the service and project management reference for biomedical data, imaging and applied biostatistics services within BIDU.
The role focuses on end-to-end management of service requests and projects, including requirement analysis, definition of technical and analytical solutions, preparation of proposals and budgets, coordination of technical execution, and follow-up of timelines, commitments and financial aspects.
This position ensures alignment between research needs, institutional data governance, technical teams and hospital information systems, guaranteeing high-quality, compliant and timely service delivery.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
University degree in Engineering, Health Sciences, Data Science, Biostatistics, Biomedical Engineering or related fields
Professional proficiency in Catalan, Spanish and English
Strong organizational and service-oriented mindset
Desired:
Master’s degree or postgraduate training in Project Management, Biostatistics, Data Science or Health Technologies
Training in data governance, research methodology or quality systems
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Proven experience (3–5 years) managing projects or services in biomedical, healthcare or data-intensive environments
Experience interacting with research groups, clinicians and technical teams
Experience in scope definition, planning, budget monitoring and stakeholder coordination
Solid understanding of biomedical data, imaging and analytical workflows (even if not executing them directly)
Direct experience with ETL pipelines, anonymization and medical imaging data
Practical knowledge of Python and/or R
Practical knowledge of DICOM standard
Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
Desired:
Familiarity with REDCap or similar EDC systems
Experience working with institutional IT or hospital information systems
Familiarity with GDPR, EHDS and research ethics frameworks
Experience in multidisciplinary or transversal research environments
Experience in AI/ML projects applied to healthcare
Knowledge of PACS architectures
Familiarity with privacy-preserving analytics or federated analysis approaches
Main responsibilities and duties:
Act as primary point of contact for biomedical research groups requesting data, imaging or biostatistical services.
Analyze scientific and technical requirements and translate them into structured service proposals.
Define project scope, effort estimation, deliverables, timelines and risks.
Prepare and manage project budgets, internal charge notes and financial monitoring.
Coordinate the execution of data extraction, anonymization, ETL and analytical tasks with BIDU technical profiles.
Ensure the secure provision of data and results under VHIR data governance frameworks.
Liaise with the Department of Information Systems and Decision Support (HUVH) to align research needs with hospital systems and imaging infrastructures.
Monitor project progress, manage dependencies and ensure delivery against agreed commitments.
Contribute to applied biostatistical and data-driven discussions from a coordination and interpretation perspective.
Maintain project documentation ensuring traceability, auditability and compliance.
Identify opportunities for service improvement and contribute to the evolution of BIDU’s service portfolio.
Labour conditions:
Full-time position: 37,5h/week
Starting date: immediate
Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
