Predoctoral Researcher (Cardiovascular diseases)
We are seeking a PhD student to participate in the research project entitled “Aortic Growth Mapping and Genotype Refinement to Advance Precision Medicine in Marfan and Loeys-Dietz Syndromes”.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related topics
Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging, or related discipline
Fluency in Catalan or Spanish (business level)
Fluency in English (business level)
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Commitment to pursuing a PhD
Experience in programming using Matlab or Python
Experience in the management and analysis of medical databases
Experience in the statistical analysis of clinical and imaging data
Motivation for clinical research involving advanced imaging
Desired:
Previous experience in medical imaging analysis, particularly computed tomography
Experience in scientific writing
Advanced-level experience programming in RStudio
Main responsibilities and duties:
Candidate must enrol to a PhD Programme in Medicine at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
Research in cardiovascular imaging, with a specific focus on computed tomography and aortic diseases.
Further develop of Matlab and Python codes for medical image analysis.
Perform advanced statistical analysis using RStudio.
Labour conditions:
Full-time position: 37.5h/week.
Starting date: May, 2026.
Gross annual salary: 23.200 – 24.300 euros. Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills ans responsabilities. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale. As specified in the call for pre-doctoral contracts associated with a Knowledge Generation project 2024.
Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
Duration: 4 years
