Data Manager (Childhood cancer and blood disorders)
The Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Division of Vall d’Hebron Hospital treats around 120 children and adolescents with cancer each year, as well as up to 500 new patients with haematological conditions and performs 40-50 stem cell transplantations. All research is conducted through the Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders Group at VHIR. There are currently 30 phase 1/2 and 15 phase 3/4 clinical trials ongoing, as well as several patient registries. The candidate will join a very active team of 18 paediatric haematology and oncology consultants, three study coordinators, two data managers and one research nurse, and will be involved in the day-to-day conduct of late-phase clinical trials & patient registries.
Main responsibilities and duties:
Data entry and data management for clinical trials in paediatric haematology and oncology.
Assistance to trial principal investigators (paediatric haematology and oncology consultants) with day-to-day conduct of clinical trials at the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Division of Vall d’Hebron Hospital.
Communication with sponsors.
Assisting the research team with sample processing for early- and late-phase trials.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
University degree in biomedical sciences
Fluency in English
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Experience managing databases in childhood cancer clinical research
Experience with data entry and query resolution in childhood cancer clinical research projects or clinical trials
Intermediate/high knowledge of English language
Training in Good Clinical Practice (ICH) (less than 2 years ago)
Desired:
Experience with data management or data entry in paediatric clinical trials or paediatric clinical research
Experience with industry-sponsored trials
Experience with the processing and management of biological samples
Experience in patient registries
Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
Labour conditions:
Full-time position: 37.5h/week.
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
