Quality Officer (Quality, Process and Document Management Unit)
We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Quality, Process and Document Management Unit. The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening and continuously improving the centre’s quality management processes, supporting the implementation and monitoring of quality standards across our activities. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the effective application of quality procedures and relevant certifications.
Main responsibilities and duties:
Ensure the maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 standards for VHIR core facilities, including:
Contribute to continuous improvement by developing customer satisfaction surveys, tracking quality deviations, customer complaints, assessing supplier performance, definition of corrective actions, opportunities for improvement, and performance indicators.
Coordinate the Quality Committee meetings and prepare the necessary documentation to support planning and implementation of improvements.
Support the preparation of the Management Review Report by collecting and compiling data from the different units within the scope of the Quality System.
Coordinate equipment calibration requirements and liaise with external calibration providers.
Assist in the preparation of internal and external quality audits.
Actively contribute to the process analysis, process mapping and continuous improvement of VHIR’s operating processes.
Participate in the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other quality documents across the organization.
Maintain and enhance the Teaching Quality System according to AQU and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona standards.
Monitor the VHIR Environmental Plan, prepare and organise meetings of the Environmental Committee.
Support new accreditation and certification initiatives as required.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Engineering.
Additional or specialised training in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English (professional proficiency).
Desirable:
Additional or specialised training in other ISO standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 56001.
Additional training in Process Management and Quality improvement tools (Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, etc).
Additional or specialised training in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience in ISO 9001 Management Systems (QMS) and in process analysis and improvement.
Project management and problem-solving skills.
Well-organised and proactive person, with analytical thinking, teamwork abilities, attention to detail and good personal and communication skills.
Desirable:
Experience in the health or research sector.
Experience in environmental certifications (ISO 14001).
Labour conditions:
Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week)
Starting date: As soon as possible
Gross annual salary: Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.
