Laboratory Technician
Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is offering one Laboratory Technician position responsible for the cleaning and material sterilisation within the Laboratory Coordination Unit. This unit is responsible for maintaining the common areas and laboratories at VHIR.
Main responsibilities and duties:
Maintain daily optimal hygiene and sterilisation conditions of all material used in the laboratories (collecting, cleaning, sterilising, and distributing materials).
Ensure the daily operation of the cleaning rooms under their responsibility (autoclave, Milli-Q and Elix systems), as well as the order of VHIR’s equipment and common rooms (freezers, developing machines, cold rooms, and cleaning storage areas).
Prepare developing solutions, monitor the correct functioning of equipment, and manage the removal of photographic waste with authorised waste handlers.
Maintain stock levels of consumables in common areas, general laboratory cleaning materials, and consumables for purified water equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance cleaning of common equipment (centrifuges, microwaves, cabinets, incubators, shakers, ultrasonic baths, etc.).
Carry out designated activities according to established procedures and, when necessary, participate in their update.
Participate in the preventive maintenance shutdown of common cell culture rooms by performing cleaning tasks on equipment and laboratory material.
Ensure that activities are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Unit’s quality system procedures, and promote and implement continuous improvement within their scope of work.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
FPI/CFGM (preferably in a health-related field)
Fluency in Catalan and Spanish (professional proficiency)
Desirable:
Experience with autoclaves

Required:
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year performing laboratory assistant tasks in a healthcare-related institution.
Knowledge of the organisation and functioning of a laboratory or equivalent facility.

Working hours: Part-time (35,16 hours per week).

Gross annual salary: Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.
