Laboratory & Quality Manager (Rheumatology)

VHIR is seeking an experienced Laboratory & Quality Manager within the Rheumatology Research Group.
Main responsibilities and duties:
Coordinate and supervise the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficient and compliant management of biological samples.
Guarantee the correct functioning of all laboratory processes within the framework of the established Quality Management System.
Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of quality procedures, documentation, and internal audits.
Prepare technical reports, operational records, and documentation required for certifications, inspections and internal and external audits.
Manage external communication with researchers, institutions, and stakeholders regarding laboratory services and procedures.
Collaborate in the drafting and preparation of research project proposals and related scientific documentation.
Act as liaison with the Research Ethics Committee, coordinating submissions, follow‑up, and communication related to ethical approvals.
Supervise and coordinate logistics related to biological national and international sample transport, documentation, biosafety compliance.
Ensure and maintain strong, fluid, and constructive relationships with clinical collaborators.
Coordinate laboratory personnel, fostering a positive and efficient working environment.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or a related field
Advanced training in quality management systems, biobanking, or research governance will be considered an asset
Strong command of written and spoken English, Catalan and Spanish
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Minimum of 18 years of professional experience in biomedical research and biobanking.
Proven experience in the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems within a biomedical research environment.
Solid understanding of ethical and regulatory frameworks governing biomedical research and biobanking.
Proven experience interacting with Research Ethics Committees (CEIm) or equivalent bodies.
Experience preparing scientific documentation, reports, and research project proposals.
Labour conditions:
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
Starting date: April, 2026
Gross annual salary: 65.000,00€
Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities
