Clinical Researcher (Infection and immunity in the paediatric patient)
The Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution that promotes and develops biomedical research, innovation and teaching at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, one of the largest hospital campuses in Europe.
VHIR is seeking a Clinical Researcher specialised in Paediatrics and with strong interest in infectious diseases. The selected candidate will join the I2P2-RG (Infections and Immunodeficiencies in Pediatric Patients Research Group), which conducts research and implementation projects focused on child health, immunodeficiencies, infectious diseases and health systems strengthening, both in high and low- and middle-income countries. The group collaborates with international partners and healthcare institutions to generate evidence and improve clinical care for vulnerable populations.
Main responsibilities and duties:
Research and project activities
Coordination and participation in clinical research activities
Isavuconazole use and pharmacokinetics in children under ECMO support
Other infectious diseases research activities in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and in the Paediatric Surgery Hospitalization Ward
Support implementation research and operational research activities conducted by the I2P2-RG.
Contribute to data collection, monitoring and research documentation.
Participate in scientific dissemination and reporting activities when relevant.
Coordination and collaboration
Coordination with Spanish centre for multicentric collaborations (Isavuconazole project and others)
Liaise with the VHIR I2P2-RG team and international partners.
Participate in project meetings and contribute to project monitoring.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Medical degree
Specialization in Paediatrics
Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English
Desirable:
Training in infectious diseases, ideally in international centres (clinical and/or research observerships)
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Clinical experience in paediatrics
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Desirable:
Experience working in clinical or operational research
Experience in infectious diseases
Labour conditions:
Working hours: Part-time (30 hours per week).
Starting date: June 2026.
Gross annual salary: Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.
Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities.
Duration: 7 months
