Research Technician (Renal Physiopathology Group)
The Renal Physiopathology group (Vall d’Hebron Research Institute, Barcelona) is looking for highly motivated Research Technician with proven experience in cell and mouse disease models relevant to kidney pathology. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing the project of Familial Hypomagnesemia with Hypercalciuria and Nephrocalcinosis (FHHNC).
Main responsibilities and duties:
Coordinate and manage patient samples’ collection
Perform the main tasks related to FHHNC project (cell culture, biochemical techniques, etc.)
Conduct experiments involving mouse models, including handling, breeding, and procedures.
Handling, processing and storage of biological samples.
Analyse data.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Candidates must have completed a Biomedicine or Biotechnology degree.
Candidates must have completed a master in Biomedicine or related subjects.
Fluency in Spanish and English (professional proficiency).
Desirable:
Statistical knowledge will be strongly valued.
Knowledge of kidney physiopathology
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
At least 4 years’ experience working in kidney cell models.
Knowledge of rare renal diseases, specifically FHHNC.
Proactive, dynamic and outstanding organisational skills are required.
Strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Certificate of animal experimentation.
Hands-on experience working with mouse models.
Knowledge of ethical guidelines and regulatory compliance for animal research.
Desirable:
Experience with confocal microscopy (fixed and live-imaging).
4 years of experience as a predoctoral student.
Experience presenting data in national and international scientific meetings.
Experience communicating results to patient associations
Labour conditions:
Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week).
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Gross annual salary: Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.
Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities
