Laboratory Technician Maternal and Foetal Medicine Research Group
VHIR is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Maternal and Foetal Medicine Research Group, and support the management, processing, storage, and organisation of biological samples collected in clinical research studies
Main responsibilities and duties:
Manage biologic samples obtained from participants in studies from the Maternal and Foetal Medicine Research Group
Process, aliquot and identify biological samples
Register and maintain samples in the corresponding database systems and store them appropriately in ultra-freezers within the group’s biological sample collection.
Prepare and organise sample storage maps and location diagrams
Analyse samples when required
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Higher Vocational Training Qualification (CFGS) or Degree in Laboratory Technology, Clinical and Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline
Desirable:
Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Training in biobank management
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Experience in clinical laboratory of the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital >5 years
Experience in using the software used for clinical biological samples at Vall d’Hebron Hospital
Experience in serum bank organisation
Experience in managing frozen samples and transfer of samples to ultra-freezers
Fluency in Catalan and Spanish
Desirable:
Experience supporting clinical research studies or research biobanks
Basic knowledge of database management and research documentation procedures.
Labour conditions:
Working hours: Part-time (18,75 hours per week).
Starting date: As soon as possible .
Gross annual salary: €9.526,89.
Contract type:Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities
Duration: 3 months
