Research Technician (Maternal and Foetal Medicine Research Group)
VHIR offers a vacancy for a Research Technician specialised in in Maternal, Foetal and Infant Health to join the Maternal and Foetal Medicine Research Group. The selected candidate will support and coordinate innovative clinical and translational research projects focused on improving maternal and child health outcomes.
Main responsibilities and duties:
Participate in the design, implementation, and coordination of clinical research studies related to maternal, foetal, and infant health.
Provide methodological, scientific, and statistical support for ongoing research projects within the group, including study design, protocol development, database planning, and data interpretation.
Collaborate in statistical analysis planning and interpretation of study findings.
Coordinate administrative, ethical, and regulatory aspects of clinical trials and observational studies, including submissions to Ethics Committees and regulatory bodies.
Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), institutional policies, and study protocols.
Coordinate participant follow-up and study logistics when required.
Contribute to data quality control, monitoring, and research documentation.
Prepare annual scientific and activity reports summarising the research conducted within the group.
Participate in manuscript preparation, scientific publications, conference presentations, and dissemination activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including clinicians, psychologists, statisticians, and research coordinators.
Support grant applications and research funding initiatives when required
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Degree in Health Sciences, including Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, or related disciplines.
MSc in research, biomedicine or similar.
Advanced training in biostatistics and research methodology.
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
Experience in research in the field of maternal, foetal, or infant health > 2 years.
Desirable:
Training and experience in the administration of infant neurodevelopmental assessment tools, including Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development (Bayley) and similar standardised instruments.
Specialty in obstetrics and gynaecology
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Proven experience in clinical or translational research projects in the field of maternal, foetal, and infant health.
Strong scientific publication record in the field, including at least 10 peer-reviewed publications and a minimum of 2 first-author publications in Q1 journals.
Experience in clinical trial or observational study participation, including regulatory and ethics-related procedures.
Advanced knowledge of statistical and data analysis software, including R, Python, and/or MATLAB.
Experience in database management and research data quality control.
Excellent organisational, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
Fluency in Catalan and Spanish; good command of English, both written and spoken.
Desirable:
Demonstrated experience in the administration and interpretation of psychological and neurodevelopmental tests.
Labour conditions:
Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week). Monday to Friday, with 1 hour for lunch break.
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Gross annual salary: €27,596.00.
Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities.
Duration: 9 months.
