VHIR offers a Laboratory Technician position within the laboratory of Metabolism and Obesity, led by Dr. Josep A. Villena. The research of Dr Villena’s lab focuses on the study of the cellular and molecular mechanisms by which adipose tissues contribute to the control of body weight and glucose homeostasis, with particular interest on how the adipocyte-immune cell crosstalk contribute to tissue homeostasis or development of cardiometabolic pathologies. Dr Villena’s research combines multiple Omic technologies (transcriptomics, proteomics and cytomics) with the use of sophisticated tissue-specific (constitutive and inducible) knockout mouse models, primary cultures, and human samples

Main responsibilities and duties:

Education and qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Sciences and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences or related fields.

• Specific training in animal experimentation (FELASA accreditation or equivalent)

• Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English (professional proficiency)

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

• Experience in the use of genetically-engineered animal models

• Experience in spectral flow cytometry

• Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills.
