Research Technician (UIC/Cardiovascular Diseases Research Group)
The Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is seeking a motivated Research Technician to join the Cardiovascular Diseases Research Group and support clinical research activities in the field of cardiovascular diseases
Main responsibilities and duties:
Conduct pre-screening of potential candidates for heart failure clinical trials using pre-existing databases and outpatient clinic schechules.
Review electronic medical records to assess inclusion and exclusion criteria according to study protocols.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date screening logs and participant tracking records.
Collaborate with the Heart Failure and Clinical Trials team to optimize recruitment pathways.
Support investigators and study coordinators in identifying candidate patients for active and future clinical trials.
Ensure accurate and confidential handling of clinical information, following current institutional and regulatory standards.
Participate in research meetings and gain practical exposure to the functioning of cardiovascular Clinical trials
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Biomedicine or another Health Sciences-related discipline.
Final-year medical students (5th or 6th year) with high motivation and interest in clinical research will also be considered.
Interest in cardiology, heart failure and clinical research.
Proficiency in Catalan and Spanish; sufficient level of English to read protocols and scientific documentation.
Availability for on-site work 10 hours/week (2 afternoons per week).
Desirable:
Interest in developing a professional career linked to cardiology, cardiovascular nursing or clinical research.
For graduated candidates, previous experience in the cardiovascular field (cardiology, heart failure, ICU, clinical trials, cardiovascular hospitalization, etc.) will be valued.
Basic knowledge of Excel and management of clinical databases.
Previous experience in clinical research or clinical trials.

Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
Ability to review electronic medical records and identify inclusion and exclusion criteria according to clinical trial protocols.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
High level of responsibility and confidentiality in handling clinical information.
Desirable:
Familiarity with patient selection criteria in clinical trials.
Previous experience with electronic medical record systems (SAP or others).
Basic knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Previous participation in cardiovascular research projects.
Labour conditions:
Working hours: Part-time (10 hours per week).
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Gross annual salary: €6,238.35 .
Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities
