Clinical Trial Assistant (Diabetes and Metabolism Research Group)
VHIR is seeking a Clinical Trial Assistant to join the Diabetes and Metabolism Research Group and contribute to the project “Estudio de la seguridad y eficacia de la administración tópica (colirio) de sitagliptina para tratar los estadios iniciales de la retinopatía diabética” (EyeSit@, ICI20/00129).
The successful candidate will provide support in data and case management, as well as administrative activities related to the group's research projects. The position will work closely with Clinical Research Coordinators, Research Nurses and Sub-investigators to support the conduct and management of clinical trials and other research projects
Main responsibilities and duties:
Support Clinical Research Coordinators, Research Nurses and Sub-investigators during clinical trial visits.
Assist in the organisation and coordination of patient visits, patient pathways and study procedures.
Update and maintain data across different clinical trial databases, including patient screening, inclusion and follow-up.
Complete Case Report Documentation (CRD).
Schedule and coordinate patient visits.
Participate in Research Group meetings and activities.
Manage study-related documentation, administrative tasks and start-up activities for new clinical trials
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. Biology, Biochemistry or related fields).
Fluency in Spanish, Catalan and English, both written and spoken.
Good computer literacy and database management skills
Desirable:
Experience in applied statistics using statistical software packages (e.g. Stata, R or SPSS), as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
A strong interest in clinical research.
High motivation and initiative.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Desirable:
Previous experience in clinical trials or clinical research.
IATA certification for the handling and shipment of biological samples would be an advantage.
Experience in the processing and handling of biological samples would be an advantage.
Experience with electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs) and clinical trial databases
Labour conditions:
Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week).
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Gross annual salary: €26,000.00
Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities
Duration: 6 months, renewable for up to 1 year
