Post-Award Grants Technician

At VHIR, we support our researchers throughout the entire research funding lifecycle. Our Pre-Award Unit identifies funding opportunities and assists in the development of high-quality, competitive grant proposals. Once funding is secured, our Post-Award Unit provides comprehensive support in the management of awarded projects and grants, ensuring compliance with both internal policies and the requirements of funding bodies.
To further strengthen our team, we are currently seeking 2 enthusiastic and motivated professionals to join the Post-Award Unit as Post-Award Grants Technicians. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the successful management of cutting-edge research projects within a leading biomedical research institution.
Main responsibilities and duties:
The Post-Award Grants Technician will support the Post-Award Research Officers in the effective financial and administrative management of competitive research funding awarded to VHIR researchers, ensuring compliance with internal policies and funders’ regulations.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
Preparation of financial reports, economic justifications, audit documentation, timesheet records, monitoring of deliverables, amendments to grant agreements in national and international projects, project close-out activities, among others.
Regular monitoring of project expenditure and income to identify and communicate any deviations.
Maintenance and updating of the grants database to ensure accurate activity reporting.
Management and updating of administrative data related to funded projects using VHIR’s internal research management software.
Organisation and monitoring of both paper and electronic documentation related to research grants.
Liaison with funding agencies and project coordinators on financial and administrative matters during project implementation.
Any other duties related to the position, as required, to contribute to the effective functioning of the Post-Award Unit.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Catalan and/or Spanish.
Good command of English (minimum B2 level).
Desirable:
Specific training in grant financial management will be considered an asset.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Good command of MS Office and other computer tools.
Well-organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Self-motivated, proactive, creative and results-oriented.
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Desirable:
Experience in post-award research management (national and/or international competitive calls).
Previous experience in a health or biomedical research environment.
International work experience.
Labour conditions:
Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week).
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Gross annual salary: Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.
Contract type: Open-ended contract linked to the project.
