R1 First Stage - Predoctoral Researcher (Pharmacokinetic Nanoparticles Research Group)
VHIR is seeking a Predoctoral Researcher to join the Pharmacokinetic Nanoparticles Research Group.
The group of design and pharmacodynamics of nanoparticles at the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute focuses on the synthesis, characterisation, and applications of engineered inorganic nanoparticles in the field of medicine. By mastering the inorganic core (size, structure, and shape) and understanding and controlling the linking of molecules to the nanoparticle surface, we engineer nanoparticles that can interact with biological systems in a specific way. We also put particular emphasis on safety, feasibility, scale-up, applicability, and other aspects of nanoparticle design.
Main responsibilities and duties:
To follow up the experimental program associated with the experimental program of the funding project.
Prepare and follow-up of the specimens included in the study.
Skillful execution of research protocols.
Collaborate with other team members.
Analyse and interpret the data obtained
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry / Master’s degree in biomedicine, biochemistry or similar
Additional or specialised training in synthesis of nanoparticles and cell culture and molecular / cell biology techniques
Fluency in English (professional proficiency)
Desirable:
Additional or specialised training in cell energy metabolism and nanomedicine.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
At least 1-year experience working in a research lab in the field of biomedicine
Knowledge in cell culture and fluency in molecular biology techniques
Computer skills: Statistics tools (OriginLab & graphpad)
Experience in nanotechnology and inorganic nanoparticles
Desirable:
Knowledge of main characterisation techniques such as UV-VIS, Dynamic Light Scattering and Zeta Potential
Knowledge of Nanoparticles formulation
Labour conditions:
Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week).
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Gross annual salary: €18,726.29 -20,000.00
