VHIR is seeking a Research Nurse to join the Support Unit for Clinical Research (USIC).

The Support Unit for Clinical Research (USIC) provides healthcare support for the development of clinical research at Vall d’Hebron. The Unit offers medical consultation rooms for users, nursing support and a laboratory for sample processing.

Main responsibilities and duties:

Receive requests from the Unit and participate in the organisation and meetings of projects to define the operational details of the services that USIC will provide as part of clinical research projects.
Understand and work in accordance with the clinical research protocols in which the Unit (USIC) is involved.
Apply Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and IATA standards, as well as relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Perform nursing procedures, including blood sampling, electrocardiograms, drug administration, spirometry, etc.
Carry out all tasks requiring nursing or operational support within clinical research projects, including scheduled visits, courier arrangements, ECG/fax transmissions, etc.
Support the transfer of study data to the CRF.
Manage the processing and shipment of human biological samples.
Attend site monitoring visits and review and resolve queries in accordance with GCP.
Manage purchases for the Unit.
Record and maintain the Unit’s activity database and key performance indicators.
Ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements established in the Unit’s quality system procedures, and promote and implement continuous improvement within the area of responsibility.
Actively participate in the review and updating of the Unit’s Quality System.

Education and qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Professional fluency in English (B2 level).

Desirable:

Knowledge of the relevant legislation governing clinical trials and clinical research.
Experience in paediatric blood sampling.
Fluency in Catalan and Spanish.

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

Minimum of one year’s previous experience as a nurse.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
Good communication skills.

Desirable:

Previous experience as a Research Nurse in clinical trials.
Experience with SAP management systems.
Organised and methodical approach, with a high level of motivation and initiative.

Labour conditions:

Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week).
Starting date: October 2026.
Gross annual salary: Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.
Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities.
